Overview
Founded in 1952 as Kazinga National Park and renamed two years later in honor of Queen Elizabeth II’s visit, the park is home to over 95 mammal species and more than 600 bird species. The Katwe explosion craters form its highest point at 1,350 meters above sea level, while Lake Edward marks the lowest at 910 meters. Queen Elizabeth National Park is Uganda’s most popular tourist destination, boasting diverse ecosystems from sprawling savannas and shady forests to sparkling lakes and fertile wetlands, providing a haven for classic big game, ten primate species including chimpanzees, and an incredible variety of birds. This safari will take you to the second most visited park in Uganda.
